Imp Dominatuus: Space marine Vs Solar Auxilia

<![CDATA[TEMPLATE FOR LAY OWe manage another game of Imp Dominatuus. It was 5000 point per side and it was between Solar Auxilia and Space marine.

Well on Saturday night,we had the 3 play the game, for one this was their first game of Imp Dominatuus…..Also went for 9 feet by 5 feet table…

Tested the following:

  1. New CC rule that were done in Version 6
  2. Tweak that was done to fliers.
  3. Test the AA stuff..
  4. Reserves movement

Summary

Wow..I don't think the SM player could claw back the VP back…He also lost about 2250 points out 5000 and well the Solar Auxilia had the Auxilia Thunderbolt Heavy Fighter Wing at BP, but passed morale..Few things came up, that I think need to be clearer in the rules..So after 4.5 hours, we had a result..

New CC rule that were done in Version 6: Guess want didn't get tested, in turn two there was one Close combat, that would have happen, but game ended before it happen..

Tweak that was done to fliers.: I like in now that flies move last in movement section, since in the other games were we have had fliers, they always moved last anyways, since there was no point moving to all land targets had move..other wise you be wasting your shoots..

Test the AA stuff..: I’m not over fuss with shooting AA, I gather you get to shoot once and that it..I think that's little under powered..I like to see AA handle like in EA, were I mean, that a AA unit can shoot Multi-targets at least once..

Reserves movement: Again, nice touch..a few things pop up, but that may be how the rules were intrepid..  but my gut feeling is that it should be done by companies, when rolling to see if they come on and they also should all come on at the same spot..so more testing,

QA and Typo’s..

So do commanders get to us their abilities while mounted? We thought they would,but it doesn't say no or yes in the rules..

Oh the Auxilia Medusa has movement rate of 10m in the Solar Auxilia, Imperialis Militia and Questoris Knight Household Army List Version 0.2----we gather this should be 10cm

The other was fliers and terrain, are they effected by terrain if shooting over it, say flier behind woods and shoots target on other side? we tried to keep away, from that situation last night since well, it’s not really clear, yes it’s clear the flier doesn't get a cover save, but it doesn't cover flier shooting over terrain..

Do fliers effect a formation on fall back, when doing the Compulsory movement? scenario is that flier is park in spot and formation falls back, but the only way is back to the flier..we played it they don't, since they are flying high..

Flier cohesion is 6cm, like ground force ?, checking the rule book, we found nothing mentioning the distance..we know it’s 6cm, since Peter has mention in our discussions. I think also the Aircraft cards need to better, in how they orginse the formation in the cards..so the Auxilia Primaris Lightning Strike Fighter Interceptor Squadron should say 3 Primaris Lightning Strike Interceptor Fighters and so when you go the Auxilia Primaris Lightning Strike Fighter Interceptor Wing, it should show the following on the card.. Squadron 1: 3 Primaris Lightning Strike Interceptors and Squadron 2: 3 Primaris Lightning Strike Interceptors..this gives the aircraft cards a orginse structure and one were you know how many orders you can place..Last night we allowed the SA to treat the Auxilia Thunderbolt Heavy Fighter Wing as 6 single formation..since well there no order structure on the cards.. and after spending 15 min’s talking about the cohesion issue, we allowed the fliers to fly as single formation, I guess to see how the Fire power coming from a Flyer wing would effect the game and I think we demonstrated that….

Ok question came up last night about, want happens if say SA have more First fire orders, then SM? So if SA had 6 and SM had 2,would the you alternate between each and when the SM run’s out, then SA do the rest of there first fire orders, but for moving to the Close combat section? We have always played it that way..before moving onto the next section..

Other was claim objective markers that were say 12cm’s above the formation? So they were on building, that you could not get to it, since you were a AV..We explained that so long as you are within 12 cm, you should be right to claim it or contest it…

So do passages in Aircraft get there inv save, like a ground transport? After a long discussion we play it, that they did, since the Thunderhawk was transporting, but the counter debates was the CAP happens before you get the troops on the ground and so would have a great hight to fall from..Troops with Jumps was another story..I think it needs to be clear on weather aircraft transports give inv save and when they should get it….

Well I thinks that’s it….Thanks for reading…(yep 4.5 hours to play game, almost 6 hours to write and get the Report up.. Priceless)
