Well today sis Friday and we manage another game of epicA. As always points sizes was 5000 points and today forces were the Scions of Iron V’s Space Wolves 2.4.2. Any ways on with the report……

  • SW bring bomber unit and SOI AA fire brings down one(Photo1), so the bomber unit shoots the predator unit on hill and manages to give the unit a BM(Photo2)

  • SOI move tactical unit up(Photo1) and the predator unit up, managing to break the unit on BM’s, so it flees behind hill(Photo2)

  • SW bring Thunder hawk gunship and do a FF with the Predator unit and call intermingled and this drags in the tactical unit. The sky claws give support to the Thunder hawk gunship(Photo1). Also the Land speeders give support to the assault and the start of FF and CC(Photo2). After the smoke clears the SW win the assault, by 1(Britt manage to roll a double one), both SOI are broken and flee back to their deployment zone(Photo3). The SW consolidate, so that the sky claws are move closer to the objective(Photo4)

  • SOI do sustain fire with the predators(Photo1), Killing two of the AV’s and this breaks the unit(Photo2), the unit flees around the corner and behind the hill(Photo3)

  • SW then open up with the whirlwind battery(Photo2) and target Heavy tactical company and manages to clip the other heavy tactical company with the SC, one getting 2BM’s and the one with the SC gets a extra BM due to kill(Photo1)

  • SW try and retain the turn and failed rolled a one, so used the SC reroll, failed again, rolled a one, so move speeders over the hill(Photo1)

  • Space wolves go first (only because I use the SC reroll and tide the score)
  • SW do engage action with Great company and use the commander rule and take another great company in, target the landraider unit and call intermingled and drag in the Predator unit(Photo1). The result of the FF/CC is worked out and dice rolled(Photo2) and the SW win the combat and so both SOI are broken and flee(Photo3), The Predator unit flees behind the hill(Photo4) and the landraider unit flees back to its deployment zone(Photo5). The two great company's consolidate(Photo6)

FEW WORD FROM THE OPPOSING COMMNADER

That was a great game today Greg. Both SM armies shot like a bunch of Star Wars Stormtroopers and saved like Star Trek Redshirts! Never have I seen so many 1's and 2's rolled. As to the battle itself, that was certainly very close with so many of the fights being equal or within a factor or two of each other. You thwarted my efforts to get your Blitz marker very well. Predators in larger units survived much better but my Land Raiders seemed to die like flies!
Both the Wolves and the Scions armies were good, hard hitting fighting formations that gave their leaders lots of opportunities as well as hard choices. It was a very mobile battle as well as a fun game and a most enjoyable time. Thank you.

Yes the dice cannot be with you, some days.
