Legio Gryphonicus v3.23 V’s Codex Astartes (NetEA Tournament Pack 2013)


Well the Legio Gryphonicus need 6 more games and it can be put forward for approval. So the short story is I put my hands up to do those 6 battles. Any ways here is the first one.
A few words from the space marine player, just to get you in the mood……
We had another fun and 'epic' game tonight...4000 points/side of Greg's Army of Titans vs the Ironclaw Space Marines commanded by Trent & me (Britt).  It was most unusual to fight against so many, and so heavy, Titans. My overall impression was that they were very hard to take on because so many hits are needed to burn through all those shields, reinforced armor, and numerous hits. That Warmonger packs a punch that's hard to believe. The Marines had superior numbers, more units, and generally greater maneuverability. At the end of the day this produced a most enjoyable and tactically interesting fight. Since both armies were relatively small in unit numbers, we were able to get through four turns in three and a half hours, something of a record. Not having Patches (The War Room cat) wandering through the battlefield also helped. She slept through the whole thing!
   Thanks Greg & Trent for a most enjoyable and memorable evening. I'm looking forward to next Tuesdays Epic Ork vs Titans game. Mind if my Mob uses Deathstrike missiles? Nine should do :- )

The main predator unit suffers 3 Kills, from the other direct fire weapons from the warmonger, which breaks the unit(Photo2)
