WARGAMES FACTORY MIN'S

Been a while again since i lasted add to my blog. I have been happly painting 28mm Acients from Wargames Factory. They are based on a 25mm front and depth will be either 25mm or 50mm.All bases are Litko(nice base to use). I have also manage to make 4 units of Roman Auxl from the range of Wargames Factory figures.

The below can be used for the following rules
  1. Warhammer Acients Battles.
  2. Crusader Rules
  3. Armies of Arcana

Full shot of every thing painted so far

Command stands
The Roman Auxl were made from the roman body, shield and head from the roman Auxl cavarly boxs set.

Creatan archers below, I need about 10 more and thats should cover it.

I'm still tring to get the right skin cover for the Numidians, so there is a trail and error. I guess I do like the colour now, but it may need to be lighter then it is now.

Any ways hope you enjoy, i'm not the worlds greatest painter, but i'm happy with the end results.
Regards
Greg

Future War Commander: Skirmish game

Well another game of FWC Skirmish, this game was done in my shed and it was a test game for my second youngest, so that he could get a feel for the rules etc. It very hard to take pictures and write down notes and the play the game at the same time.

The forces consented of the following and were the same for both sides

1 CO

2 HQ

3 fire teams with chain gun

3 normal troops

3 walkers with different weapons fits, which were a chain gun, lasers and flamer.

Sliver team

Blue Team

The battle field had the following lay out.

THE BATTLE

The first two turns nothing happens much with both sides moving and troops and then failing their next roll to get them to do anything. The only highlight was the blue team walker with laser nearly killing the silver teams walker with laser. The following shots give general view of the battle field were not much movement was happening.

The next four turns were more movement and with long range shooting on walkers since both sides saw them as magor threat to there infantry force. There were some highlights, like both sides rolling double ones and taking two turns of shooting, only to find thats it was ineffective. The blue team rolled 12 dices and not hits and the silver team rolled 12 dice and one hit, which was saved. The sliver team rolled a blunder and was forces to move his force a full move towards the blue team force on the right flank. The below shots were of the short range fire fight, were for the next two turns hot lead flew between the forces. Then the blue team assulated a squad of infantry in the same place in the ruins and won the combat. The next turn the blue team destoryed a walker and thats took care of the walker with the flamer and sliver team killed the blue infantry squd. So seeing the distrucation of his squd, the hq and the walker charged the sliver walker, very confainted thats they would win.The first around of the assulted end it in a draw, so another round was done and the sliver team was the winner, the blue team lost thier hq and the walker was forces back, and the blue force took command test on the unit under the hq command and they all failed and felded the field.

The next three truns saw the long range shooting containued and the blue team lost another walker to the long range fire. So turn 12 started and the sliver team rolled two command blunders in the turn and then failed on the CO roll and then i rolled and all my commands did nothing. So on the next turn. the sliver team tagerted the CO of the blue team and killed him after three truns of shooting. So once he had done that and the faailed on his CO roll it was over to me. So the blue team made a command roll for the force to stay and rolled 11. Game over victory to the sliver team. I got my butt kicked by my second younest

The sliver team won, since i went over the number i need to test moral and i rolled a 11 on the command roll.. The pictures below show the casuality for both sides., as you can see not close at all

Any ways till next time , have fun, may the dice roll high for you.

Future War Commander: Skirmish

Well have final got a game after about 3 months not having a game. so below is from the email britt did and put up on the bundy group. There are pictures below, but the camra batteries went flat. So only got four shots.

"Greg came over for a game last night. It was really good to see him again, and even better to have a game. He'd brought out his Blood Bowl minis...he has at least 5 teams...as we'd planned to have a Blood Bowl game after we finished off Future War Commander: Skirmish. As it turned out, we ran out of time, but they were certainly beautifully painted miniatures. We also discussed other things like his rebasing all his Epic:A stuff for FWC , selling all his 15mm lead ancients and moving into the newer 28mm plastic stuff by Wargames Factory, his health, state of the club here, etc. He also loaned me a Orc Team reminder card to photocopy since mine's "missing in action".

Then to the main event! I'd set up the table (see Bundygamers home page) for a Future War Commander:Skirmish game. Both sides had 2 fireteams each of a Chaingun Gunner, Loader, & 2 Troopers, and 4 fireteams of 5 Troopers each which also included a Sgt. & a Lt. (CV 8 & 9). Usual 'meeting engagement" scenario to give both sides a chance to attack & defend. Its always good fun to have a game with Greg, as we joke & laugh as well as conduct serious play. His luck is also (usually) as bad as mine, but last night things went well luck-wise for both of us.

Early in the game, a firefight broke out between one of my Chaingunners on the white building & Greg's on the opposite hill. It was funny. Belt after belt of ammo was poured at each other, but I didn't get wiped out for about 4 turns! "Great Moments in Greg's Luck" occured here. I got 3 hits on Greg's Chaingunner, & he rolled 3 6's (YES...He did take a photo!) and saved them all! We called the trooper "Lucky Eddie" after that. On the flip side, I managed 3 command blunders, usually causing me to withdraw, but to no great game effect. I never could get one of my fireteams to move, & Greg had a Sgt, the sole survivor of his fireteam, to stay put for 3 turns. I guess the poor fellow was in shock!

While I was leading early on, and even won a hand-to-hand fight, Greg's Lt. won the day, pressing forward with his team manfully. My side finally hit morale (15 dead) and headed for the hills! Victory to Greg. A great little game. I'll leave it set up for Friday night in case anyone wants to give it a go, but we can do a boardgame just as easily.

Next Wednesday night Greg & I plan on doing a ACW "On To Richmond" scenario game, probably from Jackson's 'Valley Campaign'."

Till next time, and thank you britt
