Necron Sautekh Legion (Developmental V1.1) and Dark Eldar Kabal of Pain's Way 2017 (NetEA 2017) Game 5

Ok so this was my fifth game at Briscon17 and It was 3000 point per side and it was between Necron Sautekh Legion (Developmental V1.1) and Dark Eldar Kabal of Pain's Way 2017 (NetEA 2017)

Ok sorry not many in game shots and army shots don't much the board we played on, in most cases..

Deployment

Well I deployed both Doom arks on each flank corner so to speak. My blitz was in the right flank behind low level dune(just out of shot).Then I placed my other markers in the following way one in the middle of the building’s, that was almost dead centre of the table and place the other marker in the ruins(radar thing in picture)..Jim place his blitz(Wraith gate) behind the oil tanks at the back.Then he place one maker on his left table edge in my half and the other in the open to the left of the buildings..Then he place his KABAL COTERIE in front of his wraith gate and then three vessels of pain, two to the left side of the KABAL COTERIE and one to the right..

Summary
 
Yes Jim was going to be the one to beat..He had pretty much won the Tournament after 4 games, by the time we had gotten to our game, and yes he’s bloody good player ..The game was fun,tense and could had gone either way..I just need few different dice rolls on some of the engagements and it may have been a 2-0 win to me…But I’m total happy to keep him 2-0 lost, since it was on the cards he could have gone a 4-0 win….
 
Yeah, the plan was to drop the TESSERACT VAULT and WARBARQUES near his wraith gate and slow him right down and tie him up with the two W/E and for turn and half that’s want they did, he use 1500 points to kill 600 points..and so it gave me time to move other stuff around and place this on OW in later turns..There were two things I could have down different I think, in turn 1 ignore the bloody DE aircraft and used the portals and take on the vessel of pains in FF, and should have broken them and this would have cut his TK shots down..chances are that I would have lost both aircraft, but could have broken two of his formations…
 
The second was not call intermingled when using the tomb blades to take on the Kabal..but I got greedy and wanted the Broken talos, but this drag in every one of my W/E and all his FF support..I should have just take the Warriors on and then focus on killing the Broken talos, later with my Two W/E’s..but live and learn..
 
At the end of the day, the game was bloody fun and Thanks Jim and it was nice to meet you..So there is grudge match on mate….next time mate, next time….

1….Did any of the test-list's units appear overpowered? Did any of the test-list's units appear under powered?

Both the ghost arks and the tomb blades appeared overpowered to me, but in the end didn't have too much of an effect on the game.  The tomb blades 2 ff attacks may still be a bit op for a 200 point unit.  It may be better to make the 1xff 4+ attack instead.

2…..Would you change the costs of any units?

Maybe the tomb blades if they remain at 2xff5+

3….Did this list appear substantially better than the primary army of its 40K race, or simply a different spin on the army? Was it clear that the test list had weaknesses to offset strengths, and vice versa?

The last seems okay. The plane portals seem a bit overpowered... and the and or weapon options throughout the last should be cleared up.

I'm not sure there is any significant weakness in the list though. And at the moment it just seems to be a better version of the cron list.

4….Did this list play like a one-trick-pony (all air assault, all amour, all CC etc)… If yes, was that thematically accurate to the army's background?

Not a one trick pony.  The list seemed heavily thematic.

5….On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy would you be to see this become and official army list?

About a 7 at the moment. 1 being least happy and 10 being a hobby boner happy!
