Well it Wednesday and we manage another game of epic. It was 3000 point per side and it was between Siam-Hann Craftworld (4.2)Vs.Steel Legion (NetEA Army Compendium v2014).
So Trent Played the Steel Legion and I Played Siam-Hann Craftworld…
So the following are the changes been tested…
Stat changes
1) General Eldar units have been brought into line with Biel-Tan v 4.2
2) Hornet has had its AT3+ go to AT4+
3) Vampire Hunter has its stats fixed
4) Farseer character has been added.
5) Siam Hann Wild Rider Chieftain has been added.
6) Siam Hann Wild Riders has been added.
Structural changes
1) Add three Jetbikes for +75 points (may not be taken more than twice).
2) “Add three Shining Spears for +100 points” upgrade has been removed from the Wind rider clan host
3) Hornet troupe has been given upgrade.
4) Vampire Hunter formation sized changed and points change.
5) Aspect Warrior Troupe has had the shinning spear removed.
6) War walker troupe added to troupe section.
7) You may select up to Two Troupes per Warhost.
8} No Phantoms or Warlock Titans
Move the following to the special rules section and called it Aspect Rule:::
All Aspect Warrior units in the Siam-Hann Craftworld army, apart from Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders, must be transported in Wave Serpents and/or Falcons. You must take exactly enough transport vehicles to carry the units that require transport, without any spare transport space being left over………

The Plan
Siam-Hann Craftworld: The plan for me was to take out the DEATHSTRIKE MISSILE BATTERY&VULTURE SQUADRON and after seeing his deployment, thought of flying into that much lead with the VAMPIRE HUNTERS was not on the cards. So I looked at how I could cut the AA coverage and once I had done that, I would then send in the VAMPIRE HUNTERS.The i would contain the the rest of the army in their half of the table …But I see how I go and whether the dice gods smile on me..
Steel Legion: I was hoping to hold the onslaught and protect my assets over all. So I put the formation I thought would be high on the Siam Hann’s hit list under the cover of AA and yes it would mean, I would end up with formation in less then 5 cms of each other.If by chance I go first turn, then the DEATHSTRIKE MISSILE BATTERY was going to target the Storm Serpent, the last thing i need is to have that thing in my deployment zone and dropping loads of jetbike off.

- The dice are rolled for the SR and the Siam Hann go first.
- Siam Hann do a engage action with WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)(BM from OWF), coming through wraith gate and target the INFANTRY COMPANY(Photo1).After two rounds of combat, the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)(2BM) wins the combat and the INFANTRY COMPANY is broken(Photo2).The WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)(2BM) consolidate forward a full move and the broken INFANTRY COMPANY flee to be on the other side of the ruins(Photo3)
- Siam Hann march move EoV, to delivery a special present and placed it in the ruins to get the minus 1 to hit, if shot at(Photo1)
- Siam Hann retain the turn and do a engage action with SHINING SPEARS ASPECT WARRIOR WARHOST(support from WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)) and target the TANK COMPANY and calls intermingled and drags in the INFANTRY COMPANY,ARTILLERY BATTERY and VULTURE SQUADRON, (Photo1).The dice are rolled and the SHINING SPEARS ASPECT WARRIOR WARHOST(3 BM’s) wins the combat and the TANK COMPANY, INFANTRY COMPANY, ARTILLERY BATTERY and VULTURE SQUADRON are broken(Photo2). - Steel Legion do sustain fire with the DEATHSTRIKE MISSILE BATTERY(Photo1) and shoot the SoV, killing 2 and breaking the formation, which flees down its base line, towards it right flank(Photo2)
- Siam Hann bring the VAMPIRE HUNTER(BM from AA)in and target the VULTURE SQUADRON, wiping the formation out(Photo1)…..
- Siam Hann bring the VAMPIRE HUNTER in and target the ARTILLERY BATTERY, wiping the formation out(Photo1)…..
- Steel Legion do a engage action with REGIMENTAL HQ and target the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM) and call intermingled to Drag in the EoV(Photo1).The dice are rolled and the REGIMENTAL HQ(4BM’s) wins the combat and WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)&EoV(bloody critical) are wiped from the board(Photo2)

- Siam Hann double move HORNET TROUPE, up to claim the objective marker(Photo1) and then shoots the REGIMENTAL HQ, killing 3 and giving it 4BM’s(Photo2)
- Steel Legion move the ROUGH RIDER PLATOON on their right flank to claim to objective markers(sorry other one out of shot)(Photo1)
- Siam Hann double move HORNET TROUPE, up to claim the objective marker(Photo1)
- Siam Hann place the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)(SC),on overwatch. Waiting to see want would happen down the right flank(Photo1)
- Siam Hann don’t rally SHINING SPEARS ASPECT WARRIOR WARHOST. Both sides remove BM’s.
- No Aircraft were lost in the Disengage section..

- Steel Legion place THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS on CAP, to get the jump on the pesky VAMPIRE HUNTERs(Photo1)
- Steel Legion do marshalling action on the REGIMENTAL HQ(Photo1) and so shot the HORNET TROUPE, Killing 1 and giving the formation 2 BM’s(Photo2) and then removes all BM’s(Photo3)
- Siam Hann bring the VAMPIRE HUNTER(BM from CAP)(SC reroll) in and target the DEATHSTRIKE MISSILE BATTERY, wiping the formation out(Photo1)…..
- Siam Hann bring the VAMPIRE HUNTER(BM from AA) in and target the TANK COMPANY, breaking it due to BM’s(Photo1) and so the TANK COMPANY flees forward, to be behind hill(Photo2)…..
- Steel Legion march move INFANTRY COMPANY back to the blitz(Photo1)

Notes: OK I was breaking formation, but the Steel legion player was rallying the bloody things at the end of the Turn.So after two turns he was down 3 actives and I was down 2. I need to try and take back the moment and swing it around, since he was in front..

- Steel Legion double move REGIMENTAL HQ up to claim objective marker(Photo1) and shoot the HORNET TROUPE,, killing 1 and breaking it, so it flees behind woods(Photo2)
- Siam Hann fail to bring on the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)(Photo1)…..
- Steel Legion double move TANK COMPANY(Photo1) and shoots the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)(SC), killing 3 and giving it 4 BM’s(Photo2)(yes only three are showing, I was too quick with camera)
- Steel Legion place the INFANTRY COMPANY on overwatch(Photo1)
- Siam Hann move SoV and shoots the INFANTRY COMPANY, the idea been to drop a BM on it to make it hard to activate, and to try and make sure he doesn't TSNP(Photo1)
- Steel Legion fail to activate the INFANTRY COMPANY(Photo1), so shoot the SoV and break it due to BM’s, which flees back behind the ruins(Photo2)
- Steel Legion bring in the THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS and shoots the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)(SC) formation, giving it BM(Photo1)
- Siam Hann do marshalling action on WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)(SC), moving so as to contest a Objective marker, and then removes all BM’s(Photo1)

- I’m still a little worry by the VAMPIRE HUNTER, but will see how it performs, over a few more game.
- I’m looking at the Hornets Price too
- My other concern is the Storm Serpent and the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST, medium size and up, but I will need to stress test it and see want results we get…
