Situation:
Your flanking column is speeding along the Sagan Turnpike on Wynn's World. Already running late, you need to get into position for a dawn attack in 2 hours’ time. The night is cold and foggy with no sign of the enemy when your columns Vanguard signals "CONTACT! CONTACT! Hostile force of unknown size blocking the Pike" and the swirling fog ahead lights up with the multicolour glow of explosions and tracers. It's going to be one of those days!
Victory Conditions:
Two columns meet during the night. Victory will go to the force that can drive the enemy back. Seven VP markers are placed. Three along the road centre at (using a 4' x 6' table) each road end and at its centre. The other four will be placed one foot in from each side and one foot from each side of the road.
Weather:
Turns 1&2, no teleporting, flying, or artillery shooting into the fog & darkness. Normal firing can only be done at ranges under 15cm. On turn 3 (daybreak) , normal combat rules but a -1 modifier applies to all firing over 15cm. Turns 4 to 6 no weather penalties apply.
Set-up:
Forces are set-up with a 250 point or less 'vanguard' unit on table. This unit may be as far as 50cm in, but at least part of the unit must touch the main road running from the centre of one deployment area to the other. The unit should be scouts if they exist in the army.On turn two the main column arrives on table, on road, in a three inch wide column(8cm). Off road movement is possible once the unit arrives on board. Only Double movement is allowed to off-board troops. Note that the length of any preceding forces is subtracted from a units normal movement, road movement is added is applicable, and it's possible that all forces will not enter the table turn 2. The same restrictions to off board movement occur turn 3.
Table:
A 4' x 6' table, playing along the long edge. Sagan Turnpike ran across the table at its centre.
Terrain:
We used about a dozen standard size city, forest, hill, and crop field(treat as forest, but not dangerous) terrain pieces.
Forces:
We used 4000 point armies. A slow force may be disadvantaged and spacecraft and planetfall are not recommended.
Time:
Six turns.
Other:
Where not covered above, standard Tournament rules apply.

Table layout
- First two shots show table from the Northern end and the other two shots from the western view.
Deployment..
- Since both sides were coming on by road, they layout the order that their forces were coming on to the table. The vanguard force for the IW was a Decimator and the WS vanguard was a Predator squad(No pic’s)
Turn 1
- WS go first.
- WS double move Predator unit and then shoot Decimator(Photo 1) and they manage to do a DC(critical was not confirmed) and 2 BM’s

- IW do a marshalling action with the Decimator and so move it 15 cms and remove all BM’s(Photo 1)
- IW Retain the turn and double move Havoc unit onto table, so that its next to marker(Photo 1)
- WS double move the TERMINATOR unit onto the table, so that its behind city(Photo1).
- IW double move armoured assault company, onto board near objective, on their right flank(Photo 1)
- WS double move bike unit on to table, right flank, so that its in front of the Terminator unit(Photo 1)

- WS double move Bike unit so it beside the woods(Photo 1)
- IW Double move IWC so that its behind the havoc unit(Photo 1)
- WS double move predator unit, and keep to the road(Photo 1)

- IW double move Havoc unit and keep it on the road(Photo 1).
- WS double move scouts onto table and stay on road(Photo 1)
- IW double move decimators, but don't have enough movement to get on table(Photo 1)
- WS double move Predator unit and keep to road(Photo 1)
- IW move up IWC and keep them on the road off board(Photo 1)
- WS double move bike unit and just get it onto the table(Photo 1)
- IW move the ravager and Havoc unit, both don't have enough movement to get on table(Photo 1)
- WS rally the predator unit….
Turn 3
- WS go first again
- WS bring on the air force and target the IWC and manage to clip the Havoc unit(Photo 1). The havoc unit gets 2 BM’s, plus a 1 Kill and the IWC suffer 4 kills and 6BM’s(Photo 2)(Photo doesn't show correct BM’s). Then the IWC suffer more hits from AT fire and this breaks the unit(Photo 3). So the unit flees towards the city(Photo 4).
- WS Retain turn and move scout unit into city and deploy(Photo 1)
- IW bring their air power and target the Bombers(Photo 1), after the smoke clears both the bombers are shot out of the sky(Photo 2)..
- WS double move predator unit and shoot the decimator(Photo 1),does enough BM’s to break the unit and so it falls back behind the land raiders(Photo 2)

- WS do a combine assault and take three units into CC/FF by using the commander ability, so 2 bike units and a scout unit go into CC, with a few razorbacks as FF. This manages to involved a Havoc unit, 2 armoured companies and a Decimator(Photo 1). After the smoke clears IW have lost combat, the 2 armoured companies and a Decimator are broken, so flee back toward their deployment zone, behind woods and the Havoc unit is wipe off the board. The WS have suffered kills and so place BM’s on the units in question(Photo 2) and then WS units consolidated(Photo 3)
- WS retain the turn and move up pred unit and target decimator unit(Photo 1) and the decimators failed enough saves to kill one unit and so breaks the unit, which flees back towards the ravager(Photo 2)
- IW do sustain fire with IWC(Photo 1) and manage to kill 3 and give the unit 4 BM’s(Photo 2)
- WS do a engage action with bike unit and target Broken IWC, they get support from other Bike unit(Photo 1), once the smoke clears white scars lose the combat and are wipe out(Photo 2)

- IW then move armoured company and shoot Bike company on objective(Photo 1) and manage to kill 1 and give the unit 2BM’s all up(Photo 2).
- WS do a engage action with bike unit and target the armoured company, which get support from Ravager and IWC(Photo 1) and the armoured company wins, wiping the Bike unit off the board(Photo 2)

I’m going to echo our host commons from a email “Great game last night fellows. There were some very epic fights and it certainly had the look of a big battle. The White Scars victory was well deserved, but hard won, as the Scythes of Chaos mowed down a lot of bike riders.”
