Battletech 16 Aug

Britt came over and we did a battle tech game each side had the same mechs. So both sides had a Atlas, battlemaster, Wolfhound and a nexus II. The objective was to get to the blue bead and take it out through your deployment zone to win game.

After 3 turns of moving mechs, I manage to get to the blue Bead first and pick it up, with Britt Nexus not far behind. Then the start of turn five Brits Nexus does a "death from above" on it semi-successfully, causing my nexus to drop the Bead. Then I returned the favour to Britt’s nexus, and so it continued until some of Britt’s other mechs caught up and started  to shoot my nexus and after taking a pile of damage,Britt blew off the Nexus left leg. Turn 6 by this point Britt Nexus was running to the hills in the back ground, with the blue bead. The Wolfhound was fired a pond and by the time the smoke cleared he had lost his top left half of his body and so could not shoot. So was left with kick attacks which did over the last couple of turns. Turn 7 Britt win’s.

Highlights of the game

Britt’s Battlemaster glowing like a x-mass tree and so working out want he need to avoid shut down was a 11+ and making the roll

My Nexus II making a piloting roll and making,to stand back up.

My wolfhound running around with no bloody weapons.

Britt’s Atlas opening up with every gun and missing with all of them(no SRM/LRM were fired)

My Atlas taking nearly all game to get into a position and then only get to shoot once.

4000pts Game Alpha Legion V’s Minervan Tank Legion

The terrain layout as in pictures, with a city on the left flank and a forest on a hill the right flank. In the middle was hills and on over of the table were roads to use.

DEPLOYMENT

The Alpha Legion deployed with two Alpha Legion Retinue on the left flank and way on the right flank a Traitor Super-Heavy Tank and deployed the rest in between these units. The Minervan Tank Legion was pack in its deployment zone, which was not good, since they had artillery and there was little room to place units out, without having units over lap.

Turn One

The Alpha Legion won the initiative(no surprise there) and fired their artillery and targeted the Basilisks unit and broke it. They tried to retain the initiative and move a Alpha Legion Retinue, but failed. The Minervan Tank Legion move the leman Russ company up into the city and support the scouts. Then retained the initiative and fired the Manticores at the Alpha Legion Retinue on the right flank, killing two units and adding blast markers. The Alpha Legion move up a Alpha Legion Retinue into the city and pass the turn back to the Minervan Tank Legion. The Minervan Tank Legion double move the mechanized platoon on the right flank up to the hill with forest and deploy the infantry into the forest. The Alpha Legion then move a Traitor Super-Heavy unit up to the ridge to shoot the SHT shadowswords and kill the griffons that were supporting it.The Minervan Tank Legion move the SHT company that has the baneblades up to support the infantry. The rest of the turn is made up of movement expect that the Minervan Tank Legion fire their death strike missiles at the warhounds and kill one and break the unit. The SHT Shadowsword unit fail its roll and its shoots instead of moving, targeting the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit on the hill in front of it, causing enough blast makers to break it.The Minervan Tank Legion rally all units in question and the Alpha Legion fail to rally a Alpha Legion Retinue . Both forces have no worries in removing blast markers.

Turn Two

The Alpha Legion won the initiative(no surprise there) roll for the artillery and fail to activate it. The Minervan Tank Legion activate the leman Russ company in the city and shoot the Alpha Legion Retinue and cause enough hits to break the unit and send it fleeing back to its base line.The Alpha Legion then move a Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit up and shoot the SHT Stormblade Company, taking two griffins out that were supporting it. The Minervan Tank Legion activate this unit and move it up and shoot the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit killing a leman Russ in the process. The Alpha Legion move a Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit up to the tree line on the hill. The Minervan Tank Legion move the SHT blanebade up into the hill with forest, closed enough to allow it to shoot the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit below, it causes one kill. The Minervan Tank Legion retained the initiative and fire the lone Basilisks at the Traitor Artillery Battery on the right flank, killing one, which is enough to break the unit due to blast markers. The rest of the turn the Minervan Tank Legion move units up to support on the left flank.The Alpha Legion fail to rally a Alpha Legion Retinue and Traitor Artillery Battery. The Minervan Tank Legion had none to rally. Both sides remove blast makers of some units but not all.

Turn Three

The Minervan Tank Legion won the initiative and fire the Manticores at the Alpha Legion Retinue on the right flank, cause the unit to break. The Minervan Tank Legion retained the initiative and move the Leman Russ company up in the city to shoot at the other Alpha Legion Retinue, causing enough hits to break the unit and have it flee out of the city. The Alpha Legion active a Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit and shoot the SHT Stormblade Company causing hits but were saved by the SHT Stormblade Company. The Minervan Tank Legion then active the lone Basilisks and shoots the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit that shot before and cause a blast marker. The Alpha Legion active the warhound titian and moved it up to the building in the middle of the field.The Minervan Tank Legion move the SHT blanebade into a fire fight range with the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit in front of them and when the smoke had cleared the SHT blanebade unit was the winner, wiping out the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit. The Alpha Legion active a Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit and shoot the SHT blanebade unit and killing three griffins. The Minervan Tank Legion have the  SHT Stormblade Company shoot the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank at its front, killing 2 Leman Russ and damaging the WE twice, enough to break the unit and send it fleeing back to the base line.The Alpha Legion try to active the Super-Heavy Tank unit on the left flank and failed, so its shoots the Leman Russ company, doing no hits. Again the rest of the turn is the Minervan Tank Legion moving units into support other units. Its sends the mechanized platoon on the left flank on a march move and so ends its movement 25cms from the broken Alpha Legion units. The Alpha Legion fail to rally any of their broken units. Both sides again remove some of their blast markers.

Turn Four

The Alpha Legion won the initiative(no surprise there) and activate the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit and move it into fire fight range with the  SHT blanebade after the smoke clears the Alpha Legion win, routing the SHT blanebade. The Minervan Tank Legion target the Traitor Super-Heavy Tank unit on the left flank and kill two Leman Russ and break the unit sending it back to the base line. Alpha Legion move its warhound on a march move and end up in the Minervan Tank Legion deployment area, but to far away from the object marker. The Minervan Tank Legion active the lone Basilisks and shot the warhound giving it a blast marker and taking down a shield. The Minervan Tank Legion fail to active the SHT Stormblade Company so move it back towards its deployment zone to support the scouts holding the objective. The Alpha Legion move up the lone baneblade and contest the objective in the centre. The Minervan Tank Legion fail to active the SHT shadow sword Company and so move it up to the objective in the centre. Then the Minervan Tank Legion had the rest of the turn since it still had a pile of activations to do. So a lot of shooting was done at broken units kill units but not wiping them out. The scouts in the middle did a double move and got with in 15cms of the objective at the back of the deployment zone of the Alpha Legion, shooting a routed unit and forcing it to move away after taking a lost. The game end there with a 3-1 win to the Minervan Tank Legion.
