Well it Sunday and we manage another game of epic. It was 3000 point per side and it was between Siam-Hann Craftworld (4.2) Vs. Steel Legion (NetEA Army Compendium v2014)
So the following are the changes been tested…I do want acknowledge all those who have worked on the list prior to myself and wish them all the best in the future.
Stat changes
1) General Eldar units have been brought into line with Biel-Tan v 4.2
2) Hornet has had its AT3+ go to AT4+
3) Vampire Hunter has its stats fixed
4) Farseer character has been added.
5) Siam Hann Wild Rider Chieftain has been added.
6) Siam Hann Wild Riders has been added.
Structural changes
1) Add three Jetbikes for +75 points (may not be taken more than twice).
2) “Add three Shining Spears for +100 points” upgrade has been removed from the Wind rider clan host
3) Hornet troupe has been given upgrade.
4) Vampire Hunter formation sized changed and points change.
5) Aspect Warrior Troupe has had the shinning spear removed.
6) War walker troupe added to troupe section.
7) You may select up to Two Troupes per Warhost.
8} No Phantoms or Warlock Titans
Move the following to the special rules section and called it Aspect Rule:::
All Aspect Warrior units in the Siam-Hann Craftworld army, apart from Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders, must be transported in Wave Serpents and/or Falcons. You must take exactly enough transport vehicles to carry the units that require transport, without any spare transport space being left over………

The Plan
Siam-Hann Craftworld: The plan for me was to take out the DEATHSTRIKE MISSILE BATTERY&VULTURE SQUADRON and this would have to be done by the VAMPIRE HUNTERS. I knew it would mean running his AA fire, but if those two units were let lose they would really hurt me. Once I had done that, I would look at containing them in their own half of the table…But I see how I go..
Steel Legion: I was hoping to hold the onslaught and protect my assets over all. If by chance I go first turn, then the DEATHSTRIKE MISSILE BATTERY was going to target the Storm Serpent. Then I would follow up by using the VULTURE SQUADRON to take out the SWORDS OF VAUL TROUPE. Then look at it from turn to turn, on want action I would use….
Turn 1
- The dice are rolled for the SR and the Siam Hann go first.They win by a Pip….
- Siam Hann bring the VAMPIRE HUNTER(BM from AA fire) in and target the DEATHSTRIKE MISSILE BATTERY, wiping the formation out(Photo1)…..
- Siam Hann retain the turn and bring the VAMPIRE HUNTER(BM from AA fire) in and target the VULTURE SQUADRON, killing 2 and breaking the formation(Photo1)The broken VULTURE SQUADRON, flees forwards into the ruins(Photo2)…..
- Siam Hann retain the turn and double move HORNETS TROUPE, on left flank, up on to the Hill(Photo1) and shoots REGIMENTAL HQ, in the hopes of killing a few AV’s to slow the movement down, in the end the plan works, killing 3 AV and 4 infantry, so giving the formation 8 BM’s(Yes not the correct number of BM’s shown, more added after shot)
- Steel Legion do sustain fire with ARTILLERY BATTERY(Photo1) and shoot WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)(SC), Killing 5, which breaks the formation and flees into the woods to its right, losing one to DTT(Photo2)
- Steel Legion retain the turn and do a move action with INFANTRY COMPANY in the woods on the right flank(Photo1)
- Siam Hann double move HORNETS TROUPE, up on to claim objective marker(Photo1)
- Steel Legion do a engage action with ROUGH RIDER PLATOON and target the HORNETS TROUPE(Photo1)The dice are rolled and the ROUGH RIDER PLATOON(BM) wins the combat and the HORNETS TROUPE is broken(Photo2).The ROUGH RIDER PLATOON(BM) consolidates 5 cms(Photo3) and the Broken HORNETS TROUPE flees to be behind woods(Photo4)
- Steel Legion retain the turn and place the INFANTRY COMPANY on overwatch(Photo1)
- Siam Hann double move SoV up the side of the ruins, so it can’t be shot(Photo1) and shoots the ROUGH RIDER PLATOON, the idea been blow a hole in the scout screen, in the end it manages to kill 2 Rough riders and gives the formation 3 BM’s(Photo2)
- Steel Legion do marshalling action on the REGIMENTAL HQ and so moves and then remove all but 1 BM(The SL player got over zealot here since he remove too many BM’s, but he still has 1 BM left)(Photo1)
- Steel Legion retain the turn and do marshalling action on the ROUGH RIDER PLATOON and so moves and then remove all BM’s(Photo1)
- Siam Hann double move SHINING SPEARS ASPECT WARRIOR WARHOST up to the hill so that its ready to engage the ROUGH RIDER PLATOON, if the Siam Hann get the SR roll(Photo1)
- Steel Legion place the TANK COMPANY on overwatch, the plan is to be ready for the onslaught that coming(Photo1)
- Siam Hann march move EoV, from the right flank to be behind the Ruins, plan been to drop in and delivery a present(Photo1)
- Steel Legion fail to bring in the THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS(Photo1)
- The Siam Hann don’t rally HORNET TROUPE and WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)(SC).Both sides remove BM’s.
- No Aircraft were lost in the Disengage section..
- Siam Hann don’t bring on 2 x WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)

Note: Well, that went well. So after that turn, I’m left with dealing with the ARTILLERY BATTERY and again, I will try and contain his forces and see about turn three win..

- Siam Hann double move EoV, down the side of the Ruins.The plan been to drop in and delivery a present, yes but I want that TANK COMPANY off over watch first(Photo1)
- Steel Legion Keep the TANK COMPANY on overwatch(Photo1)
- Steel legion don’t rally ROUGH RIDER PLATOON and the Siam Hann don’t rally SoV and WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)(SC).Both sides remove BM’s.
- No Aircraft were lost in the Disengage section..

Note: Well, that went well again. So next turn is to take out the TANK COMPANY and yes I can see the heads shaking now, but with the right prep work i should be able to win it…I will try and contain his forces again and see how it goes..

- Siam Hann do a engage action with WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM), so the TANK COMPANY and INFANTRY COMPANY do their OWF, after the smoke clears the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM), is gone(Photo1)
- Siam Hann bring the VAMPIRE HUNTER(BM from AA fire) in and target the VULTURE SQUADRON, wiping the formation out(Photo1)…..Ok it only taken three turns but hey at least they are dead now….
- Steel Legion bring in the THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS and kill the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)(SC) formation out right(Photo1)(BTS)
- Siam Hann double move EoV(over the ruins)(Photo1) and targets the TANK COMPANY, giving it a BM(Photo2), (oh well some much for prep)
- Siam Hann retain the turn and do a engage action with WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM) and target the TANK COMPANY and calls intermingled and drags in the INFANTRY COMPANY(Photo1).The dice are rolled and the WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST (MEDIUM)(3 BM’s) wins the combat and the TANK COMPANY& INFANTRY COMPANY are broken(Photo2).The WILD RIDER CLAN WARHOST(MEDIUM)(BM) consolidate full move back to claim objective marker and the broken ROUGH RIDER PLATOON which got a BM for supporting a failed assault flees down the base line. The INFANTRY COMPANY flees further into the woods and the TANK COMPANY flees so it formes a line between table edge and ruins(Photo3)
- Steel Legion double move REGIMENTAL HQ up to claim objective marker(Photo1) and shoot the SHINING SPEARS ASPECT WARRIOR WARHOST, killing 2 and breaking it, so it flees behind woods(Photo2)
- Steel Legion Keep the INFANTRY COMPANY on overwatch(Photo1)
- Siam Hann Keep HORNETS TROUPE on overwatch(Photo1)
- Siam Hann fail to activate HORNETS TROUPE and so regroup(Photo1)
- Steel legion don’t rally ROUGH RIDER PLATOON and the TANK COMPANY.Both sides remove BM’s.
- Siam Hann lose Vampire Hunter to AA when leaving the table. No other Aircraft were lost in the Disengage section..
