Well it Tuesday again and we manage to have another game of epic and this time we tried out the Strike Scenario.
Britt and Me played the Death Korps of Krieg (NetEA Tournament Pack 2014) and Trent played the WORLD Eaters 3.8.
The Armies: Players choose armies to an agreed point’s total, with 3000 points per side recommended for play.
The Battlefield: This battle is played on a 6 ft. x 4 ft. table divided into three sections as shown in the map below. Set up the terrain on the battlefield in a mutually agreed manner and it must contain at least three water pieces. Once the terrain is done, each player will place D3+ 2 VP markers on the board. No VP marker can be closer than 30 cm’s to another VP marker and no VP markers can be place in the deployment zones. Also VP markers can be placed any closer than 20cm’s from the front line of the deployment zone of the player placing them.
Deployment: The army with the highest strategy rating deploys first and is call Force A and deploys its entire force in area marked on the map. Then Force B will deploy all his forces in the area marked on the map…
First Turn: Roll a D6 and add strategy rating to see who goes first.
Game Length: This mission lasts for four turns.
Battlefield Terrain: Mysterious Rivers, lakes and pools rules are to be used in this scenario.
Victory Conditions: The victory conditions of this mission are to take ground from the enemy. At the end of the game, the player who has scored the most Victory points has won the game. If the players have the same number of Victory points, the game ends in a draw. Victory points are scored the following way
1. Each player scores 1 Victory points for each formation within the enemy's deployment zone, at the end of the game. Broken formation doesn’t count.
2. Each player scores 1 Victory points for each VP marker they hold at the end of the game and broken formation doesn’t count.
Mission Special Rules
Fog of War: After deployment of forces, but before the strategy roll is done, each army can redeploy a single formation anywhere within their deployment zone. Roll off to see which player has the choice of redeploying first or second (Roll a D6 and add strategy rating).
Attrition: The army which has destroyed the highest number of enemy formations at the end of the game gains an additional Victory point (Broken formations don’t count).

- Death Korps of Krieg do a engage action with Warhound pack(Support from INFANTRY COMPANY) and target the Greater Brass Scorpion Engine and call intermingled and drag in the World Eaters Berzerker Retinue(Photo1) The dice are rolled and the Warhound pack(2 shields, DC and gets a BM) is the winner. The Greater Brass Scorpion Engine killed by failed armour saves and the World Eaters Berzerker Retinue is broken(Photo2). The World Eaters Berzerker Retinue flees to hill(Photo3) and the Warhound consolidate 5 cms towards the Tank Platoon(Photo4)
- WORLD Eaters do a engage action with Defiler Engines, and target the Tank Platoon and calls intermingled and drags in the Warhound pack(Photo1). The dice are rolled and the Defiler Engines wins the combat(although broken due to BM’s), the Warhound pack&Tank Platoon are broken(Photo2). Summary
Another interesting game, although if the World eaters had gotten turn 2 strategy roll it may have been different. Things to look at
1) Reducing the number of Objective markers since , we were running out of space..
2) Rewording of placement of objective markers…
