BT 4.2 (Mic List)and Codex Astartes (NetEA Tournament Pack 2015)

Well we manage another game of epic. It was 3000 point per side and it was between BT 4.2 and

I played the Codex Astartes (NetEA Tournament Pack 2015) and Jim played the BT 4.2

  • Codex Astartes- Activate STRIKE CRUISER and shoot orbital bombardment, which does nothing…

OBBOMB

  • BT 4.2- Place Guardians on overwatch in building…
  • Codex Astartes- Bring Thunder hawk and shots scouts on left, giving them a BM...
  • BT 4.2- Fail to activate Rangers on right and so regroups…
  • Codex Astartes- Bring Thunder hawk and shots scouts on left, giving them a BM...
  • BT 4.2- Do marshalling with rangers, so moves and removes all BM’s
  • Codex Astartes- Place tactical on overwatch near Blitz..
  • BT 4.2- Guardians do march action and move towards Blitz..
  • Codex Astartes- keep scouts on over watch to guard two objective markers..
  • BT 4.2- Move with void spinner up, since it out of range…
  • Codex Astartes- Bring land craft on and shoot Rangers on left, killing 1 and giving it 2 BM’s
  • BT 4.2- Fail to activate with SoV(SC Reroll used) and so moves..
  • BT 4.2- Double move with other SoV up..
  • BT 4.2- Fail to activate with Void spinner and so regroups
  • BT 4.2- Double with night spinners and move up behind ruins..
  • BT 4.2- Double with scorpion and shoot scouts, giving them a BM...
  • BT 4.2- Double with scorpion and shoot scouts, killing 1 and giving them 2 BM’s..

  • BT 4.2- Fail to activate rangers on right and so regroup..
  • Codex Astartes- Bring thunder hawk with 2x DEVASTATOR and target Ranger on left. The dice are rolled, thunder hawk with 2xDEVASTATOR (BM on 1) wins the combat and the Rangers are wiped from the board. Both DEVASTATORS consolidate 5, one into the buildings and one forward…
  • BT 4.2- Do sustain fire with void spinner and targets Devastator in open, giving it a BM (Yes he missed all three)…
  • Codex Astartes- Keep Tactical on overwatch near Blitz….
  • BT 4.2- Keep Guardians on overwatch..
  • Codex Astartes- Fail to keep scouts on overwatch, so regroup and remove BM’s
  • BT 4.2- Do sustain fire with night spinners and target Devastator in building, killing 1 and giving it 2 BM’s
  • Codex Astartes- Bring in landing craft & Predators and land 46cm out from SoV and shoot SoV, killing 4 and breaking it, so it flees towards objective marker..
  • BT 4.2- Move and shoot with EoV and targets thunder hawk, doing a DC and giving it 2 BM’s…
  • Bring thunder hawk with 2x DEVASTATOR and target Shinning Spears (BTS) on right. The dice are rolled, thunder hawk with 2xDEVASTATOR (BM on 1) wins the combat and the Shinning Spears (BTS) are wiped from the board. Both DEVASTATORS consolidate 5, one towards the ruins and one forward…
  • BT 4.2- Do sustain fire with void spinner and target Devastator in ruins, killing 1 and giving it 2 BM’s and breaks the formation. So it flees back….
  • BT 4.2- Move and shoot with EoV and targets thunder hawk, giving it a BM…
  • BT 4.2- Fail to activate SoV and so regroup..
  • BT 4.2- Double move guardians up..
  • BT 4.2- Do engage action with shining spears and target the Predators. Support from EoV. The dice are rolled and the shinning spears (BM) win combat and the Predators are broken and flee forwards...

RALLY PHASE:

  • AC leaves the table, taking a BM each from shooting
  • Both sides rally

  • BT 4.2- Deploy avatar near the Guardians, on the objective marker right flank..

Avatare

  • Codex Astartes- Win SR roll and goes first..
  • Codex Astartes- Bring on landing craft and shoot void spinner, getting DC and confirming Critical. The void spinner explodes and kills a Single guardian next door to it..
  • Codex Astartes- Retain and engage with DEVASTATOR and target Avatar, call intermingled and drags in guardians. The dice are rolled and the Avatar& guardians (Both have BM) and win the combat. The DEVASTATOR is wiped from the board….Both the Avatar& guardians consolidate a full move..
  • BT 4.2- Do sustain fire with night spinners, and targets DEVASTATOR, giving it 3 BM’s
  • BT 4.2- Retain and sustain fire with void spinner and targets DEVASTATOR, killing 1 and so it breaks and flees towards the BT blitz..
  • BT 4.2- Retain and fail to activate avatar and so takes BM and shoots DEVASTATOR, Killing 1 and breaking it. So it flees back into the woods….
  • Codex Astartes- Fail to activate Predators, so take BM and shoot EoV, giving it a BM...
  • BT 4.2- Move EoV and shoot Predators killing both out right...
  • Codex Astartes- Place DEVASTATOR on over watch in buildings on right flank, near Objective markers...
  • BT 4.2- March move rangers towards their Blitz
  • Codex Astartes-Place scouts on overwatch
  • BT 4.2- Move and shoots scorpion and shoots landing craft, doing 2DC and giving it 3BM’s…
  • Codex Astartes- Fail to bring on thunder hawk (SC Rerolled used)..
  • BT 4.2- Double move SoV and shoot broken DEVASTATOR, doing nothing..
  • Codex Astartes- Bring on thunder hawk and shoot SoV, killing it out right(only one AV left in formation)
  • BT 4.2- - Double move SoV and shoot broken DEVASTATOR, doing nothing..
  • Codex Astartes- Double move TACTICAL and shoots EoV, giving it a BM..
  • BT 4.2- March move guardians up to cover objective marker..

Thanks for the game Jim…
 
Now If only I had place the Orbital bombardment, on that part of the deployment zone, were you deployed your forces. Who knows, want might have happen. It looks like I may have hit 7 or 8 formations roughly..Ouch. That would have made the game easier for me, as it was I need to hold back and try and get Jim to break his castle up..He would had to do it anyways at some point, to start taking ground.. Then I could pick my places to assault. I had some luck with shinning spears(BTS), since Jim failed a few armours saves..So won that, which help the cause…If it had gone to turn 4, it would still have been close, although tough for me…and Jim may have gotten in front by a nose..Never once did I feel like, I was out of the game..
 
 
Oh and thanks Jim for getting so one mind on shooting AC and also thinking my Dev were Eldar.That camo work nicely, will need to make sure it’s standard issue when facing Eldar, when you are in charge…Smile with tongue out 
 
 
Apart from the cock up(from both of us,hey we are only human and not #$%^ Robots) on shooting the landing craft, when it had not land..It was bloody interesting game..and I look forward in facing Jim again in another tough interesting game..thanks mate.Open-mouthed smile
