Well Tuesday been and gone again. As we always do, we manage another game of epic. This time it was Knight World (v2.2) V’s Scions of Iron and it was 5000 points per side as always. The Knights changes for 2.2 are listed below….
The Baron only gets a Shock Lance when it has a Power Gauntlet.
The Lancer's Shock Lance got dropped.
Rough Riders went to 150 for 6.

- Scions of Iron do engage action with BIKE formation and target the Lancer formation(Photo1). The dice are rolled and the Lancer formation wins the combat and Bike formation is broken(Photo2).They flee back to their deployment zone(Photo3). The lancer formation gets 2 BM’s from hits suffered. one from a critical rolled(Photo4)
- Knights do sustain fire with Lancer formation(Photo1) and shoot with HEAVY TACTICAL Formation, giving the unit a BM(Photo2)
- Scions of Iron bring in THUNDERHAWK SB(Photo1) and target the INFANTRY PLATOON, Killing 1 and giving it 2 BM’s(Photo2)

- Teleporting: Scions of Iron bring on Terminators(Photo1)
- Scions of Iron try and active Terminators and roll 2 ones in a row(Used the SC reroll)(Photo1), so shoot the INFANTRY PLATOON, killing 2 and giving the unit 3 BM’s(Photo2)
- Knights do a engage action with Errant Formation with baron, so use the commander ability and bring in the lancer unit(Photo1) and target the HEAVY TACTICAL formation(SC) (Photo2). The dice are rolled and the Errant & lancer formation wins the combat, the HEAVY TACTICAL formation(SC) is wiped from the board(BTS)(Photo3). The Lancers get a BM and the Errant consolidate by moving up the slope of the hill to be closer to the objective marker(Photo4).
- Scions of Iron do sustain fire with Predator formation(Photo1) and shoot the custodian Formation, killing one of the Castellan units. This breaks the unit(Photo2) and so it flees around the corner of the ruins(Photo3)
- Scions of Iron fail to active Predator formation, so move it up(Photo1)
- Knights do a engage action with the Errant formation and target the TACTICAL formation(Photo1). The dice are rolled and the TACTICAL formation is the winner(By 2 Pips), the Errant formation is destroyed(Photo2)
- Knights retain the turn and do a engage action with Knight household and target the HEAVY TACTICAL formation, the HEAVY TACTICAL gets support from the HELIOS(Photo1). The dice are rolled and the Knight household wins the combat and the HEAVY TACTICAL is broken and flees back to the corner and the HELIOS gets a BM(Photo2). The Knight household gets a BM(not shown in Photo)(Photo3)

Summary
Most enjoyable game. The memorable moments for me was,
- Have the Scions of Iron commander forget the terminators for 3+ turns, only to get them on the table and roll double one when trying to activate them….
- Combat to take out the Scions of Iron BTS.
As to the Knights
- Dropping the Shock Lance from the Lancer was spot on. I didn't miss having it..
- The Baron only gets a Shock Lance when it has a Power Gauntlet. I forgot about this and so cant comment on it.
- I’m also glad the point cost have stayed the same, as in the last version of the Knights list.
Plan is to take the same list out again, against a ATML list on Friday…..
